VALLEY OF THE KINGS OF THE WEST SHORE LUXOR


 In the mountains of the Lybian chain that stands behind Thebes open many small valleys, the most famous is the Valley of the Kings. Its Arabic name is Biban el-Moulouk means "the two doors of kings" in reference to the gates that once closed the tombs.

Located on the west bank (Wesbank), it consists of about sixty tombs (tombs) housing the tombs of the great Pharaohs of the eighteenth to the twentieth dynasty. 'Ramses II, Seti 1, Thutmose III )

 

 

 The history of the discovery of the tomb of the pharaoh, who died at eighteen years old, is too long, too exciting and too full of mysteries that we can, here to tell it in its entirety.
November 4, 1922 discovered by Howard Carter who worked for Lord Carnarvon, it is entered in history by the vast amount of treasures that were found in the burial chamber and which, fortunately, the thieves had failed to metrre hand.
 Carter himself wrote the story of this historic discovery, and it is always worth reading it, to live with him day after day, minute after minute, the various stages of discovery, read "The Tutankhamun case" by Christian Jacq.

All ornaments found inside emerges with its beauty, the funeral mask of gold and lapi lazuli Touthankamon, aujourd'ui presentation, like all the treasure in the Cairo Museum.
